what is the Hoard Lab?

Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto have aligned in the sky. Individually each solar body suggests one of the following: abundance, surrender and transformation.

In response to this historic planetary conjunction, Hoard Repair Lab invites participants to find unwanted garments that no longer hold their value, or old favourites that have been damaged over time and surrender them to be transformed through a process of repair and embellishment. Each garment will be redesigned and returned to its owner to bring new life to an object that might otherwise end up in landfill.

Before and after documentation in an online exhibition is accompanied by video demonstrations of a series of variations on repair techniques for the audience to replicate with the hope of slowing excess consumption.
